Responsibilities

The Public Radio Alliance is seeking a part-time LOS ANGELES BASED Assistant to help with podcast production (and so much more). You will be working as an Independent Contractor. Duties will include fact checking, research assistance, social media content,, interview transcribing, pre- and post-production and other CMS work, and as much writing as you can handle. you will chiefly be responsible for supporting the podcast producers and talent. Being detail oriented in a deadline-based environment will be imperative. You may be asked to appear "on mic" and may eventually have the opportunity to produce pieces.

Qualifications

Our ideal Assistant should have a working knowledge of Slack, Adobe Audition (or ProTools or Audacity), basic recording skills; facility with relevant social media platforms; as well as a passion for podcasting, pop culture, or technology — and ideally all three. Preferred qualifications include experience at a student podcast or television network, newspaper, or magazine; at least one prior internship or job in a professional environment; experience as an audio producer; demonstrated experience creating content on the latest social media platforms; and a fundamental ability to make sound editorial judgments and balance conflicting priorities. Location and Housing

Candidates must provide their own housing and transportation. Parking will be provided.

TIMEFRAME

Applicants must be available in Los Angeles for the duration of employment. Assistants may be expected to work unconventional hours, including working from home as required.

Payment

Assistant will be paid an hourly rate of $12.00
